Moving beyond the challenges to identify practical solutions and meaningful advocacy priorities for general practice.
General practice is facing significant challenges.
From workforce pressures, rising practice costs, intrusive bureaucratic overreach, layers of complexity impeding good, efficient practice and escalating patient demand to growing fragmentation of care caused by scope of practice changes, digital transformation with consequent increased costs of procurement, maintenance and training and growing administrative burden, GPs are navigating change on multiple fronts. In short, we are under siege and on multiple fronts.
While these issues are being discussed across professional publications, social media and online forums, there are limited opportunities for Victorian GPs to come together in person to openly discuss the issues affecting their practices, patients and profession.
AMA Victoria is pleased to host the General Practice Challenges and Solutions Summit.
This interactive forum will bring together GPs from across Victoria for a candid "gloves off" discussion about the current state of general practice and the key issues shaping its future. Participants will have the opportunity to share experiences, identify priority concerns, explore potential solutions and contribute to shaping future advocacy efforts.
Hosted by AMA Victoria and facilitated by Dr Mukesh Haikerwal AC, the summit will examine both Victorian and national issues affecting the profession.
Importantly, the evening is designed to move beyond the challenges and focus on practical solutions, meaningful advocacy priorities and actions that AMA Victoria and the broader profession can pursue to strengthen general practice and improve outcomes for both doctors and patients.
Whether you are an AMA Victoria member or not, if you are a GP who cares about the future of general practice, we encourage you to join the conversation.
